Hawkstone Shakedown For Geartec Suzuki

/ February 24, 2014

003Geartec Suzuki’s Ray Rownson used the weekend’s Hawkstone International as a shakedown test ahead of the forthcoming British Championship season, getting valuable time on the team’s RM-Z450 machine.

Rowson was in the mix for a top 15 finish in the opening encounter, racing with experienced Grand Prix and international riders, before a coming together with another competitor ended his race early.

Race two saw Rowson up in 11th, embroiled in a scrap for the positions just outside of the top 10, when another crash meant he was forced to retire.

Team Manager Rob Hooper commented, “It wasn’t the start we were looking for, and ideally we would have liked Ray to get the full race distance under his belt.

“We’ll now resume testing and continue preparation for the opening round of the British Championship on 16 March.”
